Have you heard about the new initiative that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has implemented for the youth about goal setting? Are you a goal setter as well? This free printable will help!

When my kids got their goal setting booklet, I was feeling a little left out.

This led me to create my own simple printable so I can have the same type of format as them. As they see me use my goal setting sheet, they will definitely be more likely to use theirs.

Sometimes I make things too hard…

When I would set goals before, I would set them in so many different areas, that sometimes I wouldn’t get anything done.

Over-kill helps no one really. In this post, I talked about goal setting for moms and it’s importance.

It has a lot of good points about why goal setting or having a plan is so important.

There’s a drawback to my old goal setting sheet and that is that there are just too many areas to work on.

This new simplified approach that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints initiated on September 29, 2019, is so simple that it will work wonders!

I like the new goal setting sheet much better… simplicity is a blessing!

Kids and Goals

This new initiative is so inspiring! Kids that can set and achieve goals will move mountains! This also gives kids an actionable step to take in order to achieve goals.

I love how the new program is for them to decide what they would like to learn or what to work on. It’s based on the scriptures as a model.

In addition to them just setting goals, they can hang up their goal setting sheet in their room. This can be a reminder of what they are working on. I will probably laminate my sheets to hang up.

I suppose you could laminate first and use a dry erase marker and keep using them. What I want my kids to see, is how much they have accomplished. So, I will probably just keep laminating new goal setting sheets for them with their goals written on them.

4 Areas: Spiritual, Social, Physical, and Intellectual

The four areas to set goals in are: Spiritual, Social, Physical and Intellectual.

This is based on the scripture in the Bible, Luke 2:52, “Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man”

The book, “Introductory Guide For Children and Youth of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints” states, “Jesus Christ developed in all areas of His life– spiritually (favor with God), socially (favor with man), physically (stature), and intellectually (wisdom) –and so can you!”

Goal sheets will help us all!

This isn’t just a great idea for kids, it’s great for all of us! In a small way, I have tried to have different areas for my goal setting, but this clearly covers it all and better than I could come up with!

With these new areas in mind, I will be setting more goals with greater focus than ever before.

I am excited about the opportunities for growth and when you have the Lord on your side, all things are possible!

If God be for us, who can be against us?
